A style of art and literature developed in the 20th century.
Surrealism style uses visual imagery from the subconscious mind to create art without the intention of logical comprehensibility..

Anti-racism P.S.A analysis

Racism, Stop it - Exclusion - Sandwich Secondary

The video is shown as a story of a girl being excluded at school. The main focus of this video is discrimination. The girl is being excluded, treated badly and everyone gives her mean looks and acts as if she is a circus freak; they point at her, laugh at her and talk about her. In the video the kids on the bus don't let her sit next to them and when she walks down the hall they point at her, make faces and make her cry.

Shots: This video uses facial expressions and close-ups a to set the tone. There is little or no use of effects, text and voice-overs. There are lots of close up shots on the different kids on the bus. There are a few wide shots, one of the kids in the hall giving her dirty looks and another of her walking down the hall to her locker.

Music: There is a creepy clip of music that runs through the entire video. The music help us see/imagine the thoughts going through the heads of the students who are discriminating upon the excluded girl.

At the end of the video we see the girl walk to her locker by her self, as she opens the locker door there is a mirror, through the mirror we can see that there are girls laughing at her in the background and we she the girl wipe her tears. This shot is a great shot, it gives the viewers a reality check and delivers the clear message to stop racism.

Optical Toys

The Phenakistoscope

Today I visited a cool site that exhibited optical toys. My favourite optical Toy was the Phenakistoscope. "The phenakistoscope uses the persistence of motion principle to create an illusion of motion. Although this principle had been recognized by the Greek mathematician Euclid and later in experiments by Newton, it was not until 1829 that this principle became firmly established by Joseph Plateau.

The phenakistoscope consisted of two discs mounted on the same axis. The first disc had slots around the edge, and the second contained drawings of successive action, drawn around the disc in concentric circles. Unlike Faraday's Wheel, whose pair of discs spun in opposite directions, a phenakistoscope's discs spin together in the same direction. When viewed in a mirror through the first disc's slots, the pictures on the second disc will appear to move. "- Nov 11 2009,courses.ncssm

3:6:9 video !!!

3 : 6 : 9 Video

This is the video my group and I made for Our 3:6:9 video assignment.
In my group there was three of us; Good Boy, Tristin Girl and I.
We came to the decision, that we wanted to film the mannequin in our class room, first we dressed him in Good Boy's sweater and then went on to start filming.
This is my first time making a video so there may be some errors.

Well I was extremely excited because it was my very first video!
Each of us shot tree shots, we all chose different angels of the mannequin to shoot and we began. I basically shot, 3 shots from this video, I did a chunk of editing (like choosing which clips go where and making the clips shorter /cutting people out of the background), helped choose a song for the footage and help figure out how to add the music to the video. It was a fun process and I'm excited to make another video and to improve my skills further !!!
