Impressionable Racism

The main focus of our video is to show how media effects our thoughts, speech and actions. The people in the video have seen a TV program which displays racism and now think it is ok to play a racist joke on someone at school. In the video we used shots of the characters talking about what they saw on TV the previous night and shots of how they bully the victim and reaction of the victim, we have a close up shot of the note followed by the victim's reaction. We use voice-overs to let the viewers know about the realities of racism.

I am satisfied with the progress my group has made with this video. But I'm unsatisfied with the overall video. I think that If we had changed our talent the first time around and if we had used clearly delivered dialogs, then the video would deliver a clearer message, I also think that when we were shooting our video we should have been really strict with our talent and made sure we were getting the shots we needed and now that I have experienced this the next time around I will use external sound and lights.

Trip to the NFB on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2009

Before the Christmas brake my class and I visited the NFB, to take part in an animation work shop. We created short animations in groups of four and put the together. We created our own characters for the animation and made the animation as a group. My group created the first animation, I made the penguin, enjoy the video!! Check it out !!!

Chess Piece

For this assignment we were asked to draw a chess piece using proportion, value and movement. The objective was to effectively create movement in the background, have a proportionate chess piece and to show an effective value scale. I started off drawing a different chess piece, but then switched to the queen. In the beginning I had a totally different design. I modified my design so that I could display movement more efficiently. The first thing I did was position my chess piece, then i added value to it, once I completed it I started on the background, first I planned it out, then added value to it. I chose to place my chess piece off centered and the background is placed so your eye is lead to the center of the page. This assignment was a huge learning experience for me and I really enjoyed it.

My comments about the video...

That was literally one of the most beautiful and creative things I have ever seen. The way everything and every little detail had to do with food was incredibly cool. It was so smartly made but, in a simple manner. Although one of the scenes was a little shocking and a tad awkward. Despite that it was definitely the cutest stop motion video I have seen and I urge you all to watch it.

So the past few days I made a Sinsere effort to follow a tutorial and recreate it my self. Sadly I was unsuccessful but, it's super cool and when my teachers gets back with a few pointers, I will make an effort to finish it.So here is my challenge to all of you out there I will link the tutorial and see if you can do it. Don't worry if it's your first time using photoshop, I 'm still exploring it myself and soon I hope to learn how to use it myself. We can go on this new adventure together I'll keep you posted on how it goes. So check this out it's called Kids in Space. There are simple easy to use steps on how to make it your self.
